چکیده

Background: We compared the density and duration of sleep spindles topographically in stage 2 3 non-rapid eye movement (N2 N3) among adults diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) healthy controls. Materials Methods: Thirty-one individuals OSAS (mean age: 48.50 years) 23 controls took part study. All participants underwent a whole night polysomnography. Additionally, those were divided into mild, moderate severe cases OSAS. Results: For N2, spindle did not significantly differ between without OSAS, or N3, post-hoc analyses revealed higher densities mild than Last, N2 AHI was associated shorter duration. Conclusion: is lower N3 N2. Our results also that, contrast to characteristics very similar

Neurocognitive Deficits in Patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS)

Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) is a common sleep-related breathing disorder affecting 5% of the general population (Young et al., 2002). OSAS is characterized by periodic complete or partial cessation of breathing while sleeping. Lack of Effect of Sleep Apnea on Oxidative Stress in Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) Patients

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate markers of systemic oxidative stress and antioxidant capacity in subjects with and without OSAS in order to investigate the most important factors that determine the oxidant-antioxidant status. METHODS A total of 66 subjects referred to our Sleep laboratory were examined by full polysomnography. Oxidative stress and antioxidant activity were asses...
